| Hey Everyone, I received this good news and want to pass it on. This is our Calallen Gypsy "Radar" I'm talking about!!
On December 18, 2008 Chief Petty Officer Lamar T. McNeal, originally from Orange Grove, TX
was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal by the Secretary of Defense.
Chief McNeal is the husband of Angie McNeal of Brandon, Fl.
Father of Troy and Elisabeth McNeal and grandson of Ernestine Lynn all of Corpus Christi.
Son of Nita and Mickey McNeal and grandson of Del Boucher all of George West.

Citation to accompany the award of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. To Lamar T. McNeal
The United States of America To all who shall see these presents, Greetings: This is to certify that The Secretary of Defense Has Authorized the award of the
DEFENSE MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL TO CHIEF PETTY OFFICER LAMAR T. MCNEAL,
UNITED STATES NAVY FOR EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS SERVICE
FOR THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES
Information Systems Technology Chief Lamar T. McNeal, United States Navy,
distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious service as the Leading Chief Petty
Officer, Spectrum Management, Command and Control, Communications and Computer
Systems Directorate, United States Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida,
from 1 Oct 2004 to 11 September 2008.
During this period, Chief Petty Officer McNeal expertly coordinated over six thousand frequency
actions in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM and military exercises.
He prevented delays of 30 days or more to obtain frequency support for Force Protection
Systems and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles by rapidly responding to changes in host country
frequency request procedures.
As the Division Security Officer, he processed over 200 clearance verifications. He was
commended by the Officer in Charge of the command's forward headquarters communication
staff for his outstanding leadership and dedication to his troops and duty while serving as the
Senior Enlisted Advisor for more than 100 directorate personnel deployed to Qatar or transitioning
to Iraq or Afghanistan. The distinctive accomplishments of Chief Petty Officer McNeal
reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Central Command, the United States Navy,
and the Department of Defense.
