The run memorializes Our Brother, Monty Mann,
who led the event each year until his passing in 1991.

Since then, the run has been established in his name and boasts participation from motorcycle clubs all over South Texas. The event typically raises more than $3,000 in cash, checks and gifts each December. Contributions will benefit the 300 individuals with mental retardation and severe physical challenges who live at the San Antonio State School.

Suggested gift items:

Clients at the School are in need of a variety of items. Even if you bring a “toy” for a gift, that’s ok. The State School is associated with other state agencies that directly care for younger children. Any gifts that cannot be utilized at the State School directly, will be forwarded to these other agencies for distribution to these other needy children. Clients at the School range in age from 12 to 80. Here is a short suggestion list.

Personal Care Items:
Hair Brushes, Hair Accessories, Combs, Tooth Brushes, Cologne, Aftershave, Lotions and Powders, Shampoo and Conditioner, African American Hair Products, Cosmetics for all ethnic groups, Perfumed Body Sprays

Clothing Items:
T-Shirts, T-shirts with prints, Windbreakers, Gold Shirts, Sweaters, Caps and Hats, Gloves, Men’s and Women’s Underwear and socks, sunglasses, men’s and women’s wallets, coin purses, purses, jewelry, sweat shirts, house shoes or slippers, jogging suits, nightgowns

Games, Arts and Crafts, Personal Items
Picture Frames, Stationery, Decks of Cards, Key Chains, Sports Equipment, Arts & Crafts Supplies, Transistor Radios, Cassette Players, CD Players, AM/FM or CD portable walkmen, Sports balls, Knick-Knacks, Dominoes, Board games, Cassettes and CD’s (various types of music), watches, fanny packs, videos or DVD’s (G, PG, PG-13)

Acceptable Food Products:
Candy (diabetic and soft); Microwave popcorn

Gift Wrap:
Wrapping paper, gift bags and bows. Our clients like to give gifts too!

Please - no fragile items, perishables, or sharp instruments

Benefit Presentation:
Please come join us on Sunday, December 14th we will meet at 2:30 pm in the IHOP parking lot on IH37 South at the Hot Wells exit. Please come join up with us to make this the most memorable holiday event for all the clients at the San Antonio State School.
