We lost our brother Kenneth "Lurch" Wolf early evening of October 31st.
Kenneth "Lurch" wolf lived and worked next door to his mother in Giddings Texas. Lurch was working on his truck and needed a few parts from the local Walmart. As he hopped on his bike, he told his mom he was only going to be gone a minute. I went and visited with his mom that night. His family didn't know much about what happened, only that the police were still investigating the circumstances. Later today her granddaughter called to with details of the arrangements and filled me in on the rest. Lurch was only three blocks from home traveling east on Independence, when a 16 year old boy driving a truck north on Madison, ran the stop sign. A paramedic that lived very close to the accident ran to his aid, and though he was there immediately to perform CPR the paramedic was unable to save him. Kenneth fortunately went very quickly as his body was crushed and most all of his bones were broken. Lurch would have been 61 this December.
Lurch started out in the Del Valle Gypsy chapter, had transferred to the Capital City Gypsy chapter only to return to the Del Valle chapter when the Capital City chapter closed last year. He made Lifer this last Mandatory. Lurch had just returned from the Calallen Halloween Rally in Mathis and he had one heck of a good time there. He and his ever present Polaroid camera will be missed by Del Valle, as well as by everybody else who knew him.
His Mom, Erna Wolf, has invited "all his biker friends" to the funeral home, services and burial.
Understandably it will be closed casket, with photos and his colors on display.
The family will get some private time with Kenneth first but then we are invited to join the family.
Del Valle Gypsy's Road Captain, "Woo Hoo", will be coordinating a ride from Austin to the Funeral Home.
Details of that starting location and to follow later.
